Nutritional Therapy
for Weight Loss in Dublin
If your weight won’t shift despite eating well and exercising, the problem is not your willpower. There is almost always a physiological reason. I find it, and then we fix it.

This is not about eating less
Most women who come to me with weight concerns have already tried cutting calories, following plans and doing all the right things. The weight still won’t shift. That is not a willpower problem. That is a biochemistry problem.
Weight resistance is nearly always driven by something underlying — hormonal imbalances, blood sugar instability, thyroid issues, gut dysfunction, chronic stress or a combination of these. Until those are addressed, no diet will produce lasting results.
My approach is to find out what is actually going on in your body, explain it to you clearly, and then build a realistic plan that works with your physiology rather than against it.

The Root Causes
Four common reasons weight won’t shift
Blood sugar instability
When blood sugar swings up and down throughout the day, your body stores fat rather than burning it. Cravings, energy crashes and weight gain around the middle are all classic signs. This is one of the first things I address with almost every client.
Hormonal imbalances
Oestrogen, progesterone, cortisol and insulin all affect how your body stores and burns fat. In perimenopause particularly, hormonal shifts can make weight management feel almost impossible without understanding what is changing and why.
Thyroid and metabolic issues
Subclinical hypothyroidism is frequently missed in standard blood tests but can significantly slow metabolism. If you feel cold, tired and are gaining weight despite doing everything right, this is worth investigating properly.
Chronic stress and cortisol
High cortisol drives fat storage, particularly around the abdomen. It also disrupts sleep, increases cravings and makes your body hold on to weight as a protective response. Addressing stress is not optional in a proper weight management programme.
The Programme
What working with me looks like
We begin with a thorough 90-minute health assessment where I look at everything — your full health history, your symptoms, your hormones, your gut, your blood sugar patterns and your lifestyle. By the end of that first session you will understand more about what is driving your weight than you have ever been told before.
I then build a personalised nutrition plan around what I find. Not a calorie-controlled diet. A strategic approach to eating that works with your specific hormonal and metabolic picture. Every recommendation has a clear reason.
For many clients, I also recommend combining nutritional therapy with acupuncture, which can be particularly effective for managing cortisol, improving sleep and supporting hormonal balance alongside the dietary work.
Consultations are available in person in Whitehall, North Dublin and online for clients across Ireland and the UK.
